Positive: Fantastic view of the lake. Loved having coffee on the deck and watching the sunrise. Tastefully decorated. Clean and comfortable. Very thoughtful amenities.
Negative: Please add a few boxes of Kleenex.
Summary: We came to do wine tastings, but found it difficult to leave the house.

Positive: We had an amazing stay at Gallagher House & Speakeasy in Hammondsport. The home is beautifully designed with thoughtful details—cozy bedrooms close yet private with walk in closets, a great kitchen that opens right onto the deck with a perfect BBQ setup, and the speakeasy downstairs, which felt like our own private lounge for board games and movies. The screened-in hot tub was awesome on a cool evening, and the ping pong and foosball brought back fun childhood memories playing with family and friends. The location couldn’t be better—just a beautiful 10 minute lake hugging ride to Hammondsport or Branchport, and 15 minutes to Penn Yan, a quick drive to top wineries, and only minutes to Y-Knot with its delicious thin-crust pizza and local fruit stand. After six days, we’d barely scratched the surface of all there is to do. Thank you to our wonderful hosts for such a memorable trip—we can’t wait to return! The views are nice up and down the lake. The area is unique. It's luxury without being showy. It's more like a lake town in the Alps than Napa, but uniquely American. It's a really quiet lake, no one buzzing around on jet skis and motor boats. The hosts got back to me right away and the instructions are easy and clearly written down.

Positive: Perfect place for a family vacation. They had in the house everything we could have think off and more. The view of the lake is beautiful and the hosts were very pleasant and helpful. Loved it and wish we could have stayed longer.

Positive: Beautiful place! The house itself is beautifully designed, cozy and inviting. Everything is very comfortable and pleasant- the bed linen is so soft (where did you buy it?!), as well as the towels, and the beds are very comfortable. The hospitality was very generous, and the house has everything you could possibly need. Spotlessly clean. We’ve been traveling for several weeks, and this was without a doubt the best place we stayed in!

Positive: The house is beautifully maintained and comfortable for the size of our group (8 adults). We found all the acoutrements we needed. Also, plenty of parking space. The lake view is really nice. Since the weather cooperated, we enjoyed a lot of time on the back deck during the day and also at night for meteor shower viewing. The kitchen is well equipped, and big enough that we weren't bumping into each other while cooking. Communication with the host before and during the stay was prompt, cheerful, and helpful. Oh--towels were sooo fluffy.
Negative: Had some trouble locating all the remote controls for the blinds and the deck awning. But a little poking around and a message to the host, which was very quickly answered, solved the issue!
Summary: We're an older, well travelled, picky group. We were happy with this place!
